Mammootty busy with big projects in 2009 too
Kochi Jan 30: Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who gave hits like Roudram, Annan Thampi and Twenty 20 last year, says 2009 has begun on a high note with his latest release "Love in Singapore" performing well at the box office and prestigious projects in his kitty.
"Two films - 'Pazhazzi Raja' and 'Kuttishrank' - have been completed and are slated for release. I expect a lot from them. There are a few more projects in the pipeline and therefore my hands are full this year as well," Mammootty, who has completed 26 years in the Malayalam film industry, told IANS.
Another of his films is "Patanthil Bhootham" and he teams up with Kavya Madhavan in it.
Other major projects to hit the screens this year include a film on social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, in which will Mammootty along with Mohanlal.
Then he has "Daddy Cool", being directed by a newcomer.
Mammootty, meanwhile, brushed aside speculations about him contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha elections on a Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) ticket.
"Who told you all this? How can anyone say something without my consent? Right now I have a good job and I am happy with that," said Mammootty who incidentally has been the chairman of the CPI-M backed Kairali TV since its inception in the mid 1990s.
