Beed, Maharashtra, Nov 21 : The Panchayat Raj Committee (PRC) will start an enquiry into 'improper functioning and misappropriation of funds' by the Beed Zilla Parishad, after the winter session of Maharashtra legislature, PRC chairman Subhash Thackray said.
The enquiry has been initiated into the Zilla Parishad after PRC inspected its works from November 18-20 and found disarray in its functioning and also cases of misappropriation of funds, when the audit was conducted, Mr Thackray said, while talking mediapersons here yesterday.
''Seats of 12 class one and 65 class officers are vacant in the Zilla Parishad and we strongly recommend the recommend the government that they should be filled soon,'' he added.
