Andhra techie gunned down in South Africa

Warangal (AP), Jul 08 : A software engineer from Andhra Pradesh, who was shot at by miscreants in South Africa, has succumbed to his wounds while another professional from the state escaped with injuries in the incident.

The assailants attacked B Kiran, a native of Arepalli village near Warangal, was on his way from work in Johannesburg last Thursday, his father B Sankaraiah told a news agency.

The asailants fled away with Kiran's laptop and cell phone, he said. Four bullets hit Kiran, two in the stomach and two in the thigh. He was admitted to a government hospital at Park Town in Johannesburg where his condition deteriorated, he said.

'We came to know that he is no more. We are told that some black men attacked him,' Kiran's brother Satish said.

Meanwhile, another professional from the state, Sridhar, who was accompanying Kiran, also sustained wounds in the incident but is out of danger, officials said.
