End in sight for BJP crisis in Karantaka?

Bangalore, Nov 6 : The two-week long, political crisis in the State BJP is likely to come to an end as the Central leaders have reportedly worked out a 'compromise formula' after series of parleys held with the rival groups in Delhi this evening.

According to highly placed sources in the party, dissident leader G Janardhana Reddy, who was insisting for change of leadership in Karantaka was mollified to accept a compromise formula, which would ensure the continuation of Mr B S Yeddyurappa as the Chief Minister while majority of other demands of the dissidents would be met.

The sources told UNI the trouble shooters who were engaged in defusing the crisis erupted in the State BJP have directed Chief Minister to drop some of his ministers including Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister Shobha Karandlaje and shift Dr V S Acharya as the Home Minister. Removal of water resources minister Basavaraj Bommai was also on cards.

The Central leaders, also reportedly directed Chief Minister to rescind order of transfers of various officials who were shifted out from Bellary district including that of Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police.

The Dissidents leader and Tourism minister G Janardhana Reddy had flown back to Hyderabad to discuss the compromise formula with other rebel legislators who are staying in a five star resort for the past 10 days.

Mr Yeddyurappa, who was camping in the National Capital have extended his stay and was expected to return here tomorrow, the sources said.

The end for the fortnight-long crisis, however, would depend on the outcome of Mr Reddy's meeting with his supporting legislators who were holed up in Hyderabad. These Legislators were vocal in their demand seeking resignation of the Chief Minister.
