Talcher fertiliser plant to go to production soon - Jena
Sambalpur, Nov 5 : Minister of state for Chemical and Fertiliser Srikant Jena today said the Talcher fertiliser plant, closed down for over the last two decades, will be revived very soon for the greater interest of Orissa and the country.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Jena said five such closed fertiliser units in the country would be opened very soon as a Cabinet decision in this regard has already been taken.
The Union Minister, however, said after necessary sanction of revival package the global tender for renovation would be floated to revive these plants.
Mr Jena, who chaired a review meeting with the Revenue Divisional Commissioner(northern division), the Collectors of Sambalpur and Bargarh besides the officers of Agriculture department assured adequate supply of chemical fertiliser to the state for the coming crop.
Expressing concern over the rising suicide of the farmers in the state,the Union Minister said congress party has no intension to politicise the issue and urged the state government to realize the situation and take a stand to safeguard the livelihood of the farmers.
