Paul Rudd calls New York, the 'greatest city in the world'
Los Angeles, June 9
Hollywood actor Paul Rudd seems to be in love with New York, as he has called it the "greatest city in the world".
The 57-year-old actor has said that he loves the "energy and attitude" of the Big Apple, and he's obsessed with the city's history, reports 'Female First UK'.
When asked what he loves most about living in New York City, Paul told 'Variety', "Well, it's the greatest city in the world. I mean, God, if you know you know, right? "I'm a sucker for New York City history. Anytime there's a documentary about New York or any book about New York history, I read it. When the Ken Burns documentary came out, I consumed it voraciously".
He further mentioned, "I just finished reading a book about the Brooklyn Bridge. The city itself puts all of us in our proper place, the city is bigger than all of us. It's good to live your life and feel a part of it and experience it but never feel bigger than it. This is a place where people from all parts of the globe from different backgrounds can come and do different things and be smushed together and somehow make it work. It creates an energy and attitude that really just clicks with me".
As per 'Female First UK', Paul is a huge fan of the New York Knicks basketball team, who have reached the NBA finals, and the actor would love to see them win the championship.
The Hollywood star, who plays Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said, "It's amazing, isn't it? Obviously, this run that they've been on has just been incredible, the point differential and how dominant they've been playing. It's so exciting that they're here in the Finals. I've always wondered for decades, If the Knicks were to ever really win the whole thing, this place would go crazy".
"And New York would go crazy in a way that's different from the way they do with the Yankees or the Giants, I think they'd go crazy with the Mets or the Jets as well, but there's something about the Knicks and New York City where I really hope we'll see it come to fruition", he added.

As someone who grew up in Delhi and now lives in Bangalore, I get what he means about a city putting you in your place. New York might be the 'greatest' for him, but honestly, every Indian metro has that same humbling, all-encompassing vibe. His passion for NY Knicks is cute though - reminds me of how we go crazy for our IPL teams!
Paul Rudd's take on New York is exactly why I moved here from London. He's right - the city has this magnetic pull. And the way he talks about the Knicks is pure passion. Respect to someone who loves their city this deeply!
While I admire Paul's enthusiasm, I have to respectfully disagree. New Delhi is far older and richer in history than New York. Our city has been standing for centuries, with layers of Mughal, British, and modern Indian culture. But I appreciate his perspective - every city has its own magic. His love for Ken Burns docs shows he's a true history buff.
Paul Rudd talking passionately about New York while reading a book about the Brooklyn Bridge - that's such a wholesome image! 😊 I visited NY once and felt exactly what he describes - that energy that makes you feel small but connected. His description of the Knicks fandom reminds me of how Kolkata goes crazy for Mohun Bagan!
As a New Yorker born and raised, Paul Rudd gets it exactly right. The city does make you feel part of something bigger. And his love for the Knicks is
