Former LJP, Samajwadi party leaders join Congress
Patna, Nov 3 : Two former leaders of the Samajwadi Party(SP) and Lok Jansakti Party(LJP) in Bihar today joined the Congress along with a large number of their supporters.
Announcing their decision to join the Congress in the presence of BPCC chief Anil Kumar Sharma at the Pradesh Congres Headquarters Sadaquat Asram, former Bihar state secretary of Samajwadi Party Prabir Kumar Pankaj and former chief of the backward classes of the state LJP Naresh Mahato said they were fed up with the ''divisive'' politics of the two parties and had decided to shift their allegiance in favour of the Congress to work for the uplift of the poor and downtrodden.
Welcoming the two leaders along with hundreds of workers in the party fold, Mr Sharma said their joining would further strenthen the Congress in Bihar.
'' We hope to work together under the able leadership of Ms Sonia Gandhi as the party president and hope to bring about a positive change in favour of the Congress after the next year's elections, '' the BPCC chief, flanked by the two leaders, said.
