Rebel leader deny CM's claim that Karnataka BJP crisis is over
Bangalore, Nov 3 : Detractors of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today struck to their stand of bringing a change in the leadership in the BJP government in Karnataka.
Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy, who is heading the rebel group that shook the government with their demand for the removal of the Chief Minister, said there was no change in their stand and vowed to ensure the change in the leadership.
Speaking to newspersons here Mr Reddy said there was no change in his group's stand about installing a new Chief Minister. However he declined to name the alternate candidate and said the Assembly members would elect their next leader.
Replying to queries he denied that the issue was closed as said the central leadership was still discussing the issue with his brother and Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy, who was camping in Delhi, continued his discussions with leaders.
"Nothing is finalised. Mr Yeddyurappa's claim that crisis was over is not true.
"We have not placed any demands before the central leadership.
The only issue is change in leadership," he added.
Mr Reddy said the crisis in the BJP government was likely to continue for some more days before the central leadership took a final decision.
"Our commitment is to have a good leadership and there was no going back on it," he added.
