One injured in clash in Nashik Dist

Nashik, Nov 3 : One person was injured when two groups clashed with each other and allegedly indulged in stone pelting at Panewadi, near Manmad, in Nandgaon teshil of this district over water dispute.

The clash broke out yesterday when a member of Panewadi Grampanchayat Dattu Sonawane asked Sarpanch Raju Sangle why did his area did not receive the water through taps. Following this, the supporters of the two began hurling stones on each other. In this incident, Sonawane was injured and his motorcycle was also damaged, while few others received minor injuries, police said today.

The mob also pelted stones on Rural hospital at Manmad, where the injured was brought for treatment.

Learning about the incident, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The members of both the groups have lodged complaints against each other in the police station. The situation was under control and peaceful, they added.
