UN should be reformed to make it meaningful: Lehoh

Kottayam, Oct 23 : Archibald Lesao Lehohla, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, Kingdom of Lesotho in South Africa, today said climate change, HIV- AIDS and terrorism were the main challenges before the international political arena.

Participating in a function at the School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University here he said climate change would affect agriculture production and thereby food security.

The United Nations should be reformed by providing more space for new actors in international relations to make it meaningful and responsible, he opined.

The international relationship of a country was related to its economic growth and a country which was economically unstable could not maintain good relationship with other countries, he said.

Successive governments in Lesotho had been taking steps to strengthen democracy since 1993, he said.
