Being stylish this Durga Puja

Kolkata, Sept 21: With Durga Puja, the most colourful festival of Bengalis, starting this Friday, young and talented designer Tejas Gandhi gives some dressing tips on how to look stylishly traditional

Saptami- The 1st day of durga puja can be bit causal. Tunics or loose and flowing tops in prints with hint of embroideries. These can be teamed with jeans or leggings combined with long earrings and some broad bangles.

Guys can try slim fit denims of various textures and patterns with fitted cotton shirts or deep neck t-shirts. These combined with smart belts and scarf's in contrast combination to add a spice to the look.

Ashtami- On this 2nd day of puja go traditional. What else can be more traditional then a beautiful silk or georgette embroidery sari and some matching Indian jewelers. To complete the look wear a red or matching bindi and thick kajal on the eyes.

Guys should also have the Indian look. Try dhoti or kurta if u r comfortable in them or wear sherwani style kurta's with churidars. These can be with embroidery or textures as per the personal preferences.

Navami- The 3rd of puja can be fun to go fusion. Wear ready-to-wear saris with corset blouses or shrugs with normal saris in modern patterns. Accessories your look with modern jewelers and try the no bindi look. Try smoky eyes and nude lips look for makeup it gives a extra bling to the fusion look.

Jodhpuris are the most in thing for men this season. These can be worn with shirts or shirt style kurtas. These can be teamed with chapples, mojries or pointy shoes.

Dashami- The 4th day and sindoor khela day. On this day what else could be the best time to wear lalpadh goradh sari. Teamed with nice gold jewelers and red big bindi to complete the look. Some can also try white and red kallidar kurta with brocade teamed with churidar or patiyala salwar. This can be more comfortable for people who not very regular with saris and be on a safer side for sindoor khela.

Guys can also wear white kurtas with hint of embroidery or texture and team them with jeans or pajamas. They can also try ready made dhotis. Some guys can also be experimental and wear loose patiyala pants with t-shirts and maybe a maroon checks scarf around the neck.
