JMFC to decide on Tejpal getting fan in prison
The judicial magistrate first class, Panaji will decide on Wednesday whether the disgraced recused editor-in-chief of Tehelka Tarun Tejpal be allowed to use a fan in the police lock up.
His lawyers had approached the court seeking permission that Tejpal be allowed to use an electric or a battery fan since the jail, in which is he lodged, does not have proper ventilation.
The matter was argued before Magistrate Kshama Joshi who later reserved the order for Wednesday.
Tejpal is undergoing custodial interrogation after the local holiday court remanded him to six days police custody on Sunday. The district and sessions court had on Saturday turned down his anticipatory bail plea following which he was arrested.
The co-founder of the popular investigative magazine is accused of sexually assaulting his woman colleague during its annual Think Fest event in a Bambolim resort here.
Meanwhile, latest reports said Tejpal has not yet been taken to the crime scene.
