V-P Radhakrishnan releases Tamilisai Soundararajan's book on RSS

Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday released the book "A Century of Service - The RSS in 100 Acts of Seva" authored by former Telangana Governor and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Tamilisai Soundararajan.
The book release event was held at Uprashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
According to an official statement, the Vice-President said the book documents the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh' (RSS) century-long service, its social responsibility and its contribution to nation-building.
Observing that "today's news is tomorrow's history," Vice-President Radhakrishnan stressed the importance of documenting good work, which could otherwise fade from public memory.
He said the book captures how the spirit of 'seva' (service) has translated into sustained social service.
Describing "Seva is Dharma; it is a duty" as a foundational ideal, the Vice-President said that RSS service initiatives have reached the poor, marginalised and diverse sections of society, including workers, women and children.
He recalled the role of RSS volunteers in providing food, medicines and essential support during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Referring to the theme of "Nation-building through character-building" in the book, the Vice-President said patriotism, discipline, social responsibility and national unity are essential to nation-building.
He said the book would serve not only as a record of the RSS' century-long service but also as a document reflecting India's tradition of seva, culture and national consciousness for future generations.
The Vice-President congratulated Tamilisai Soundararajan and all those associated with the publication, expressing hope that more such efforts to document history would follow.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, L. Murugan; Puducherry Home Minister A. Namassivayam; and Tamilisai Soundararajan were present.
Meanwhile, Tamilisai Soundararajan thanked the Vice-President for releasing the book.
"A great day and a truly memorable occasion! Honoured to release a book dedicated to the grand organisation RSS, written as a humble expression of gratitude for its century-long journey of service, sacrifice and nation-building. This book is not merely a collection of words-it is a heartfelt tribute to an organisation whose Seva, and commitment to Bharat have inspired countless lives. A day of gratitude, pride and cherished memories," she said in a post on social media platform X.
