Veena Malik joins 'Nabo Borsho Night'

Kolkata, Apr 16 : Pakistani actress Veena Malik was in Kolkata on Monday, to promote her upcoming release 'Zindagi 50:50', at the first of its kind 'Nabo Borsho Night' (Bengali New Year Night), organized by Tollywood Dhamaka and Red FM.

The event was the brainchild of Tollywood Dhamaka directors Arindam Sil, Pawan Dalmia and Vishnu Aggarwal, in association with Red FM Director, Jimmy Tangerine.

Veena Malik said Zindagi 50:50' involves the struggles of three women and her character, Madhuri, is that of a sex-worker in Mumbai.

The film also stars Riya Sen, Rajpal Yadav, Arya Babbar, Rajan Verma and Supriya Kumari, and is slated for a 7th June release.

Speaking on the occasion, Arindam Sil sounded excited about what he called "the Bengali film world hosting its first Tollywood Dhamaka programme on the occasion of Poila Baisakh"

"It is going to be an annual affair. We have among us veterans like Soumitra Chatterjee, Dipankar Dey, Biplab Chakraborty, Barun Chanda...Prosenjit could not be here, but he sends his regards and best wishes," said Sil.

"We plan to have the biggest fashion show, soon, with the likes of Yami Gautam and Amna Sharif..", he said about Tollywood Dhamaka's future projects.

Tollywood stalwart Soumitra Chatterjee said, "The attention I receive may have been because of hanging around for too long, for it makes me wonder what I did to have deserved it."

The evening witnessed other stars like Shankar Chakraborty, Locket Chatterjee, Dolon Roy, Debolina Dutta, Manali Dey, Gaurav Chakraborty, Ridhima Ghosh, Rachana Banerjee, Arunima Ghosh, Sonali Chowdhury, Bhashwar Chatterjee and many more including performances by Koneenica Banerjee, singers Abhijit Ghoshal and Dolly Sidhu.
