AAP MLA wins Delhi speaker post

New Delhi, Jan 3 : A day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the trust vote in the Delhi Assembly, the ruling party's MLA Maninder Singh Dhir got elected as the Delhi Assembly Speaker on Friday.


Dhir was backed by his own party and the Congress.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Janakpuri Jagdish Mukhi was fielded against Dhir.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's AAP won the trust vote in the Delhi Assembly on Thursday.
