Michael Schumacher shows slight improvement

Grenoble, Dec 31 : The condition of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher has improved slightly but remained critical, doctors said on Tuesday.

A doctor said Schumacher's condition improved after undergoing an operation to relieve pressure on his brain.

The surgery occurred for around two hours.

Jean-Francois Payen, head of anesthesiology at the University Hospital Center of Grenoble told media: "The situation is better under control than yesterday."

Schumacher is undergoing treatment at the hospital after he suffered a head injury while skiing in the Alps in France on Sunday, reports said.

The accident occurred at the Meribel. Schumacher was first hospitalised in Moutiers town but was later shifted to the hospital in Grenoble.
