The United Kingdom on Tuesday removed a travel advisory for its nationals against travelling to Jammu and Kashmir state and taking the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
The advisory had been in effect for around two decades.
It was removed on Tuesday owing to improved security situations.
"We no longer advise against travel to Jammu and Srinagar, nor against travel on the Jammu to Srinagar highway," says the new advisory on the website of the foreign and Commonwealth office of the UK government.
However, the country's advise to its nationals against travelling to India in general, remains.
"We advise against all travel to specific regions of India and against all but essential travel to other specific regions of India," it says.
