The Centre and various state government departments will organise a three-day long public information campaign on the flagship programmes of the Central Government at Mini Secretariat Multi Purpose Hall, Ukhrul from November 1.
The objective of the campaign is to create awareness among the public on the flagship programmes like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), Rural Road, Rural Drinking Water Supply, Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojna), Rural Telephony, Total Sanitation Campaign, Integrated Child development Services (ICDS), Right to Information Act, Pension Scheme and Forest development etc, according to the organisers.
The organisers will pay special emphasis on Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS), Rural Telephony, National Rural Health Mission, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Health Mission (MGNRHM), Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojna), Total Sanitation Campaign, Rural Drinking Water Supply, Forest, Pension, Rural Road and last day, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Mid Day Meal and Right to Information Act.
The general masses will be given an opportunity to interact with officials and to attract visitors a one day free medical camp will also be held on the second day.
Altogether seventeen departments will put up exhibition stalls to display their office activities.
Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Imphal will organise a photo exhibition on a 600 sq ft area on the theme 'initiative development in the northeast'.
Song and Drama Division (S and DD), Government of India, Imphal will perform theme-based entertainment programmes in the form of song, dance, drama and martial art.
The entire event will be jointly organized by Press Information Bureau (PIB), All India Radio (AIR), Door Darshan Kendra (DDK), DAVP, DFP, S and DD, in collaboration with different departments of the Manipur Government and the Centre Clubs besides NGOs, Churches of Ukhrul district under the sponsorship of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
