Clashes hospital premises
Thane, Mar 12 : A man was seriously injured when two rival groups clashed On the premises of the Thane district civil hospital,police said today.
API R T Pawar of the Thane Nagar police station said there was an incident of fighting over an earlier issue on the occasion of Haldi in which a man was admitted to the Thane civil hospital for treatment.
When he was in the hospital, some of his relatives came to see him yesterday and at the same time the rival group also came to the hospital. There was an exchange of hot words among both the groups which resulted in clashes in which one Dileep Karotia
was attacked with knives several times.
Some of the vehicles parked on the premises of the
hospital were also damaged, police said, adding that there were five accused who were named in the complaint by Karotia, who alleged that Dudnath Chavan led the attackers.
The police have registered an offence under sections 143,144,147,148,149,324,323 and 427 agaisnt the mob and investigations are being carried out by the Thane Nagar police station.
