Hacker reveals financial details of top American celebrities, politicians
New York, Mar. 12 : Over a dozen bigshots belonging to the entertainment industry and politics - including Michelle Obama, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder - have had financial details or sensitive material hacked and published on a website.
The Los Angeles Police Department - whose top officer, Charlie Beck, was among one of the 17 victims of the hacker - is trying to track down the hacker behind the website, exposed.su, reports the New York Daily News.
Also victimized were Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Vice President Biden and FBI Director Robert Mueller.
On the site's main page, entitled "The Secret Files," visitors are invited to click on a celebrity's name and receive information including addresses, their social security number, mortgage accounts, and credit cards and bank accounts.
The FBI is aware of the hacker's handiwork and the website that published the sensitive material.
The hacker, however, was not able to seize a great deal of information on Biden and Clinton, the former Secretary of State and oft-speculated contender for the Democratic nomination for President in 2016.
