20-yr-old mentally challenged woman raped in Aurangabad

Amid a national outcry over the gangrape of a young woman in Delhi, a 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by a 65-year-old man here in Fulenagar under jurisdiction of Osmanpura police station.

The accused allegedly raped the girl last evening in his house. A neighbour saw the incident and reported it to the victim's family members, police said today.

The victim's family then registered a complaint with Osmanapura police station against the accused.

Police admitted the victim to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for medical examination. They arrested Laxman Bankar, a retired employee of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), the sources added.
