Ahead of the Winter Session of Maharashtra legislature, the key opposition of Shiv Sena-BJP today hinted that it is geared up to put the Congress-NCP government on the mat over alleged irrigation scam during the session, commencing from Monday.
'The Opposition will raise all such issues pertaining to reinstatement of Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister following the white paper by government on irrigation, the delay in enforcing a law to curb the private usury in Vidarbha, which has witnessed suicide by thousands of debt-ridden farmers, and the massive irrigation scam.
However, the main target will be irrigation scam,' said Vinod Tawde, leader of Opposition in legislative council, while addressing a news conference here today.
He said the opposition parties, including BJP, Shiv Sena and MNS will meet tomorrow, a day before the start of Winter Session, and decide the strategy to take on the government on various issues during the session.
Mr Tawde also said they will exhort the ruling alliance to consider imparting top priority to the problems being faced by Vidarbha as the session is being held in Nagpur.
