195 found suffering from HIV positive in Ambala

As many as 195 people were found suffering from HIV positive during medical tests conducted on 21102 people from January to October 2012 in the district.

Disclosing this at a press conference here today, Ambala Civil Surgeon Manoj Gupta stated that much was to be done to educate people about the causes and prevention of the disease, especially those living in slum areas and congested localities. Dr Gupta informed that Red Ribbon train exhibition on the killer disease run by the Ministry of Health was reaching Ambala on Decmber 10 for two days. The exhibition throws light on the HIV AIDS with its causes and preventive measures.

Besides, AIDS information about TB and Malaria had been provided with measures to check and control the diseases. He said the train was reaching Ambala after covering 23 states and 162 railway stations.
