UK ice cream man facing jail after attacking arch-rival
An ice cream man from Halifax, Yorkshire, known as Mr Yummy is facing jail after he lost his cool in a 4-month turf war with a rival called Mr Whippy.
Zeheer Ramzan, 32, and Mohammed Mulla, 41, had a fight in the street when one of the ice cream sellers pulled up behind the other's van and began serving a queue of kids with 99s, the Telegraph reported.
Ramzan pulled out an iron bar and started hitting the window of his rival causing it to shatter and showering Mulla with glass.
Mulla tried to escape the attack but ended up accidentally ramming Ramzan's van. Both vehicles finally drove away after a tense stand off.
Mulla was later treated in hospital for injuries to his arm from a heavy hit.
He was also showered with glass with shards piercing his right eye, leaving it swollen and unable to open.
The fight in Blackburn, Lancashire, was filmed by an onlooker who later uploaded it to YouTube.
The fight was the climax of a bitter feud between the two men, which began in March after Mulla discovered Ramzan had begun operating on his regular round in Blackburn.
At 6pm on June 2, Mulla was completing his round when he pulled into a street to find Ramzan already parked up in front of him.
Mulla who gave evidence from behind a screen told magistrates in Blackburn "Mr Ramzan came towards the vehicle with a metal bar.
"I haven't said anything, I did not swear or say anything and #65533; it was Ramzan swearing," he said.
But Ramzan said: "I did not hit him with the bar at all. I showed him what I had too just too scare him. I wasn't threatening towards him."
He went to the police the day after the fight and reported that Mulla had deliberately crashed into his Ford Transit van.
