An impressive Attestation Parade, in which 223 recruits passed out from the Parachute Regiment Training Centre (PRTC) after successful completion of 34 weeks military training, was reviewed by Major General R G Krishnan, Chief of Staff, Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala Area (ATNK and K Area).


In his address, Major General Krishnan urged the new recruits to imbibe the basic tenets of a solider namely 'Imandari', 'Wafadari' and 'Bahaduri'.

Among the award winners were Recruit Nima Tshering Tamang, who won the Gill Medal for overall Best Recruit. The Endurance Medal was won by Recruit W Meren Chang. The Ghadge Medal for the best firer was won by Recruit Utpal Sonowal.

The Cheema Medal for best Recruit in Physical Training was awarded to Recruit Akumchung and Chettri Medal for Best Recruit in drill was awarded to Recruit Rajesh Deuri, who also commanded the parade.
