Varanasi DM reviews investment, 125 MoU projects operational

Departmental officials should coordinate with investors and ensure timely resolution of their problems: Varanasi DM

The meeting highlighted encouraging progress in investment and employment growth in the district's industrial landscape, with a total of Rs 24,187.92 crore proposed through 201 MoUs so far.

Of these, 125 projects are currently fully operational, with investments amounting to Rs 9,180.12 crore already realised. Work is currently in progress on 25 projects, indicating continued activity in the implementation of investment proposals in the district.

During the review of the 'Invest Mitra' portal, officials informed the meeting that 1,646 of the 2,003 applications received through the portal so far in the current financial year have been approved.

District Magistrate directed all concerned departments to ensure prompt action on the cases received on the portal as per the rules.

He directed the VDA and other departments to coordinate with investors and ensure timely resolution of all their problems. He also directed the concerned officials to increase police patrolling in the Chandpur Industrial Estate and to take action against unauthorizedly parked transport trucks and travel agency buses, as per the rules.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Commissionerate, Deputy Commissioner of Industries and other officials, along with entrepreneurs, were present at the meeting.

Entrepreneurs present at the meeting appreciated Varanasi's changing investment climate and administrative support. They also welcomed the steps being taken by the district administration to facilitate investment and address issues related to the implementation of projects.
