Haryana govt invited applciations from students of minority community
Haryana Government has invited applications from the students belonging to Minority Communities namely Muslim, Sikh, Buddhists, Christians and Zoroastrians in government recognized schools or institutes for pre-matric scholarship for the year 2014-15 by August 31, 2014.
Stating this here today, a spokesman for Social Justice and Empowerment Department said that under the scheme, hostellers and day scholars of class 6th to 10th would get scholarship of maximum Rs 500 per annum each as admission fee. The tuition fee of Rs 300 per annum and Rs 350 per month would be given to hostellers and day scholars respectively.
The maintenance allowance would be payable for a period not exceeding ten months in an academic year. The day scholars of class 1 to 5 would get Rs 100 per month whereas the hostellers and day scholars of class 6th to 10th would get scholarship of maximum Rs 600 per month and Rs 100 per month respectively.
He said the students residing in Haryana would only be eligible for scholarship. The continuance of award would subject to securing of 50 per cent marks in the previous examination.
The annual family income of the student's parent or guardian should not exceed Rs one lakh per annum from all sources. About 30 per cent scholarship had been reserved for girl students and scholarship would not be given to more than two students from a family.
