Coal India Chairman S Narsing Rao will be the Man Friday for TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister- designate K Chandrasekhar Rao--who will be shaping up his A team and also power supply position ahead of bifurcation of state by June two.

The TRS chief had introduced him to Governor ESL Narasimhan, yesterday, as 'this man has answer to our power problems' at Raj Bhavan during his second visit to discuss issues of bifurcation and sharing of revenues and personnel, ahead of the actual division of the state on June two.

The soft spoken, however, tough administrator, Mr Rao, hailing from Medak district, the native of TRS chief, had proved his capabilities at the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) during the rough period of Telangana agitation.

Not only had he succeeded in jacking up the coal production from 36 million tonnes to 53 million tonnes, he also ensured a strike free 2007-08.

Rao is likely to take over as the Principal Secretary in the CMO of KCR and would be placed in-charge of key portfolios like power, transport, industry.

Mr Rao, who is on 15 days leave from his office (Coal Chairman), has been sitting with KCR and framing the policy of the new government and also shaping up the power supply plans for the coming agriculture year in Telangana.

"There is no threat of power crisis now as the link between West and Southern Grid is complete," according to Mr Rao who was instrumental in giving shape to national grid project since 2012.
