Senior BJP Leader and Prime Minister- designate Narendra Modi today assured Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa that there would be absolute cooperation between the Central and the Tamil Nadu Government.


This was conveyed by Mr Modi to Ms Jayalalithaa when he spoke to her over phone this afternoon, thanking her for the letter she wrote to him yesterday greeting him congratulating him for his massive victory in the Lok Sabha polls.

In her letter, Ms Jayalalithaa said "I congratulate you on the magnificent victory in the 16th Lok Sabha Elections".

"I wish you and the Government under your stewardship the very best and look forward to an era of meaningful co-operation between the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu", she said.

Responding to it, Mr Modi called up Ms Jayalalithaa today afternoon and spoke to her over phone.

Mr Modi also thanked her for the letter and also conveyed his congratulations for the remarkable victory that her Party has won in the Lok Sabha Elections in Tamil Nadu.

Ms Jayalalithaa wished him a very successful tenure as Prime Minister, who assured her that "there will be absolute co-operation between the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu", an official release here said.
