Posted on May 12 2014 | IBNS

Muzaffarnagar, May 12 : The Election Commission (EC) on Monday said riot-hit Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh will undergo re-polls on Tuesday.

Re-polling will be held at three booths at Behlolpur, Rasoolpur Jattan and Noonakhera.

Previously, the re-polling was scheduled to be held on Monday. But the EC later changed the date to May 13.

The EC decided on the re-polling after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Kadir Rana and Pankaj Aggarwal of the Congress complaint of electoral irregularities during the Apr 10 polls.

Security has been stepped up ahead of the re-polls in the state to avoid any untoward situation.

Over 75pc voters in the three booths had exercised their franchise on Apr 10.
