1,106 students awarded degrees on 36th convocation of ISM
Altogether 1,106 students were conferred degrees on the occasion of 36th convocation of the Indian School of Mines, here in which President Pranab Mukherjee was the Chief Guest.
Among those who were also present included Jharkhand Governor Syed, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, state HRD Minister Geetashree Oran and state Animal Husbandry Minister Mannan Mallik. Altogether 79 medals were given to the students, which included 43 Gold Medals and 18 Silver medals and 18 other sponsored Silver Medals. President conferred the Gold Medals to 10 students.
He also felicitated ISM Director D C Panigrahi for his contribution in the field of research, development and resources. Newly appointed VC of Vinoba Bhave University Gurdeep Singh was also felicitated for guiding maximum number of students in Phd.
Sachin Aggarwal was awarded the shield for the best student.
66 Phd degrees, 162 M tech, 129 M Phil, 101 Msc Tech, 102 Msc, 50 Integrated Msc Tech, 43 dual degrees and 498 B Tech degrees were awarded to the students.
