Directives to prevent communicable ills
Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand has directed collectors to take measures for control of jaundice and other infectious ailments, official sources said.
The directives were issued last evening during video-conferencing on the situation caused by spread of yellow fever and other contagious diseases here and in several towns.
The top bureaucrat said collectors should keep in mind the summer season and ensure preparations for preventing all virulent ailments in villages and towns.
"In urban areas where potable water is supplied through pipelines, a campaign must be launched for systematic maintenance of pipelines. If a complaint regarding jaundice is received then the sufferers should be immediately hospitalised," Mr Dhand said.
Arrangements must be made for purifying water sources in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare and Public Health Engineering departments.
