Police have arrested two more persons in connection with murder of a teenaged girl near Kannahalli near Malavali in the district.


The arrested persons have been identified as 19-year-old victim's father-in-law Billaiah of Mysore and his brother Puttaswamy of Nelamakanahalli in Malavalli, yesterday.

Police have already arrested Billaiah's wife Nagamma and Puttaswamy's wife Prameela on April 25.

Police said it was a pre-planned murder. The arrested had hatched a plan to kill Shilpa a week prior to committing the crime.

The two couples were unhappy about B Abhijith (Billaiah's son) marrying the victim against their wishes. Hence, they killed victim, the police said.

Puttaswamy and his wife allegedly took Shilpa on a motorcycle and set her ablaze and fled from the scene.

The victim managed to reach the Service Road and the villagers rushed her to the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) where she died on April 25.

Police have seized the motorcycle used to commit the crime and mobile phones from the accused.

The accused were produced before a Magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
