State Vigilance Department and Anti-corruption Bureau filed a charge sheet against former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and 15 others for allegedly indulging in corruption under various sections of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act. Mr Dhumal is charged for benefiting Himachal Pradesh Cricket Assocatiton presided by his son Anurag Thakur.


SVD&ACB, ADGP Mr Prithvi Raj told UNI that charge sheet was filed today against 16 people in Special Court Dharmshala at Nurpoor in Kangra district as High court dismissed the petition of cricket body to quash first information report (FIR) against them. The charges have been leveled over alleged wrongdoing in allotment of land to the state's cricket association for constructing a residential complex for players near its stadium here. He said court has asked the agency to produce copy of HC judgment pronounced here today before it could issue notice to the accused.

Mr Dhumal who was Chief Minister in the previous BJP government has been charged under section 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act while 15 others including Mr Anurag Thakur president of HPCA, Additional Chief Secretary and IAS officer Deepak Shanan, President of Gram Panchayat (upper Dadi) Ms Pushpa, Members Gram Panchayat Mr Bhupinder Singh and Ms Neena, HPCA office bearers R S Kapoor, Surinder Thakur, Mr Ajay Sharma, Mr Arun Kumar, Mr Vishal Marwa, Mr Danvinder Singh(son of HLP Leader Maishwer Singh) and Mr Sanjay Sharma have been charged under sections 406, 420, 120 (b) of Indian Penal code and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act.
