Chief Minister Manohar Parriker today ruled out the formation of Goa Mining Corporation, saying he doesn't want one more source of corruption.


Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Parrikar said government will formulate a transparent mining policy by the end of May in the interest of all stakeholders and without violating the Supreme Court order.

He said barring few issues, SC has accepted all decisions of the state government.

He said the new policy will protect the interest of all stakeholders including mining workers, truck owners and small businessmen.

After formation of mining policy, all other issues will be addressed and by September/ October economic activity is likely to commence.

He also, said agriculture will be given protection in the mining area.

The Chief Minister added that the action would be taken against those involved in illegal mining including former chief minister Digamber Kamat.
