Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today complained against YSR Congress Party to state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) alleging the YSRCP distributed large quantity of liquor and money at Uravakonda in Anantapur District.

In a letter addressed to state CEO Bhanwarlal,a copy of which was released to media here, TDP General Secretary M A Shariff said YSRCP had conducted a public meeting at Uravakonda in Anantapur District yesterday.

Each person who attended the meeting was paid an amount of Rs 500 and also distributed large quantity of liquor, the TDP alleged in the letter.

This was widely reported in all papers including photos, it said.

This was against Model Code of Conduct and an offence under Indian Penal Code.

"We therefore request your goodself to initiate action against YSR Congress party and its President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy under the provisions of RP Act and Model Code of Conduct and direct the police to register crime under Sections 1735 GE of 1PC," Mr Shariff quoted from the letter

The constituency goes to polls on April 30.
