With the campaigning for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu approaching the climax, it's time for the supermos of political parties at national level to come down south to seek votes for their candidates in fray.


In Tamil Ndu, therefore, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and arch rival, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi are getting ready for campaigning in the state this week and the next.

Gujarat Chief Minister Modi, according to BJP leaders here, will address a series of public meetings in the state tomorrow, April 16 and 17. He will kick off his campaigning at Chennai tomorrow and then at Ramanathapuram and Coimbatore on April 16. He will campaign at Erode, Salem and Krishnagiri on September 17.

The BJP, for the first time, is leading a six party Front in Tamil Nadu that includes actor-politician Vijaykant led DMDK which is contesting the maximum of 14 seats in the alliance, PMK and MDMK, led by former union minister Anbumani Ramadoss and former firebrand MP Vaiko.

The Congress President, according to TNCC President B S gnanadesikan, will campaign for the party's candidates in Tamil Nadu, at a public meeting in Nagercoil, a pocketborough of the party, on April 16. The party is going it alone and contesting all the 39 seats this time.
