A rousing reception was accorded to Karnataka Minister for Housing M H Ambarish on his return from Malaysia after treatment.


The Actor-turned Congress leader had fell nearly two months ago when he suffered acute chest infection. After being treated in a city-based hospital, he was shifted to Mount Elizabeth hospital in Singapore where he recovered satisfactorily. Later he spent two weeks in Malaysia recuperating from his ailment and arrived at the city airport today.

His actor wife Sumalatha and son Abhishek Gowda accompanied him.

The film actor-turned politician was first admitted to Vikram Hospital here following chest infection in February.

Mr Ambarish is expected to take part in the election campaign for actor-turned politician Ramya in his home segment of Mandya. Ramya is seeking re-election from Mandya to the Lok Sabha after winning the by-poll eight months ago. The election is slated for April 17.
