Andhra Pradesh Haj Committee today announced that the computerized Qurrah (draw of lottery) for selection of Haj pilgrims for Haj 2014 at Haj House here on April 17.

The Haj Committee of India will hold the Qurrah district wise, according to AP Haj Committee Special Officer Prof S A Shukoor.

The quota for the state had not been declared so far, he said and added the State Haj Committee was making elaborate arrangements for the the Qurrah function.

He said that out of 18080 haj applications, the Qurrah would be held for 16608 fresh Haj applicants As many as 1472 applicants under the reserved categories (70 puls years) and forth timers were already declared selected with out the Qurrah. Haj Committee Executive Committee Abdul Hammed said the highest number of applicants belonged to Hyderabad with 8839. Only five Haj applications were received from Srikakulam district and 12 applications were submitted in the Prakasam district.
