The Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP), a breakaway faction of the CPI (M) in Kerala, today demanded action against Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate in Vatakara Lok Sabha constituency A N Shanseer for allegedly maintaining close liaison with Kirmani Manoj, sentenced to life term in the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan here two years ago.


Talking to reporters here, RMP Secretary N Venu and leader and wife of Chandrasekharan, K K Rema said they had records of Shanseer calling up Kirmani constantly till a day before the assassination on May 4, 2012.

Demanding his immediate arrest, they said the records showed that Shanseer called upon the hardcore criminal a day before the murder and in house of P K Kunhanandan, who is also serving life term, where the conspiracy was hatched and at Sameera quarters in Chokli in Kannur district, they said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran, who is seeking second term from Vatakara against Shanseer said he committed a serious offence by maintaining close relationship with the criminal.

Demanding a comprehensive probe, he said the revelation substantiated his claim that CPI (M) leaders were involved in the conspiracy angle.

Describing the allegation as politically motivated during electioneering, the CPI (M) today approached the State Election Commission to stop publication of the news relating to the revelation.
