Giving its verdict in response to an appeal against the recent judgment of the Andhra Pradesh high court which had directed the state election commission to take up the counting of votes and declare the results on April nine, the apex court also directed the election commission not to declare the results.

After postponing the final hearing on the issue to April 7, the apex court also directed the state election commission to submit a report on the issue.
