Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sumitra Mahajan, the outgoing Parliamentarian from Indore that she has represented seven times in a row, submitted her nomination papers in the constituency today.

Before submitting her papers, Ms Mahajan offered puja in the Khajrana Ganesh Temple here along with her family members. She also garlanded he statue of Ahilya Devi at Rajwada and then marched with BJP supporters to the District Election Office where she submitted papers before Returning Officer Akash Tripathi.

Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe and legislator Sudarshan Gupta were also present. "There will be a straight fight between the BJP and the Congress as the Aam Aadmi Party has no influence in the constituency," Ms Mahajan said.

Congress pitted Satyanarayan Patel against Ms Mahajan from this prestigious seat.
