Campaigning picking up in tribal-dominated Jhabua
Election campaigning in Madhya Pradesh's tribal-dominated Jhabua district began on a dull note but is gathering momentum with polling dates approaching closer.
Poll campaigning by both the main political parties have picked up. Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kantilal Bhuria has already filed his nomination papers from Jhabua.
BJP candidate Dilip Singh Bhuria is expected to follow suit shortly.
Establishing personal contact by campaigning village-to-village is still being followed by the aspirants while communication is also being made in markets. However, scorching summer has affected the prospects of this public relations exercise.
Party workers from outside are not visible on the ground and appear draped in their 'kurta pyjama' when party leaders arrive. The real campaign is in the hands of rural works whose hard work would determine the fate of the candidate.
