Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today filed her nomination from Vidisha parliamentary constituency in Madhya Pradesh.

Ms Swaraj reached the District Returning Officer JK Jain's office along with her supporters and filed her nomination in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Ms Swaraj, who is a sitting MP from Vidisha, will face Congress leader Digvijaya Singh's brother Lakshman Singh, who is Congress' candidate from the constituency. Meanwhile, former Congress leader Raj Kumar Patel is contesting as an independent candidate.

The BJP leader told her supporters yesterday that she needed to go to other places in the country as well for campaigning and the electoral battle in Vidisha would be fought by them on her behalf. She said that the victory margin should be over 4 lakh votes.

Ms Swaraj won by a huge margin of over 3 lakh votes in 2009.
