Former Congress Jatara legislator Dinesh Kumar Ahirwar today joined BJP in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Welcoming Mr Ahirwar into the party, Mr Chouhan said the Congress-led Centre has pawned the country's internal security.

'Mr Ahirwar is one of them. He is joining the BJP after resigning as a legislator,' said Mr Chouhan.

Mr Ahirwar said the would work as a small party worker in the BJP. He would contribute in the formation of a BJP-led government at the Centre and in making Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi the country's Prime Minister.

Recently, then Katni's Vijayraghavgarh MLA Sanjay Pathak had quit Congress to join the BJP. Earlier, senior leaders Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi and Rao Uday Pratap Singh had also left Congress and joined the BJP party.
