A team from World Monument Fund (MMF) arrived in the city today for a two-day visit to verify the ongoing cleaning works at Bidar fort and the capital of Bahamani kingdom, and underground water supply system 'Karez'.

Official sources said the team members are Mark Weber from New York, US, Dr Amita Baig, representative of WMF in New Delhi, Subir Harising retired Additional Chief Secretary, Paromita De Sarakar and Puja Biswas from IHCN Mysore.

Sarat Chandra, of Deccan Heritage Foundation Hyderabad, and the WMF team met Bidar DC P C Jaffer, district forest officer Sunil Panwar and ZP CEO Ujwalkumar Ghosh and discussed about conservation of monuments.
