The Telangana unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said the party would fight Lok Sabha and assembly elections in the region alone, media reports said.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) might not ally with the BJP indicating that talks over sharing of seats have failed.

"While announcing the decision to go solo, BJP Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy said the party would finalize the list of candidates for 119 assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats shortly," The Times of India reported.

Media reports also said that in Telangana, the BJP feels going with the TDP will add to them the burden of its chief Chandrababu Naidu being perceived as being anti-Telangana.
