Modi doesn't need a certificate: BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday hit out at whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks and said its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi does not need a character certificate from anyone.
"Narendra Modi does not need a character certificate from anyone," said BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
"People of the country have seen his capability as the chief minister in Gujarat. He will serve people of India as truthfully when he becomes the PM," he said.
WikiLeaks on Monday said it never endorsed Modi as 'incorruptable'.
"No WikiLeaks document say #Modi is 'incorruptable', rather he is popular because 'viewed' as 'incorruptable' ," WikiLeaks tweeted on Monday.
The website said BJP supporters were circulating posters which quoted Wikileaks founder Julian Assange as saying: "America is scared of Modi because they know that he is incorruptible."
"Narenda Modi's #BJP has been pushing this fake #Modi endorsement- but #Assange has never said anything about #Modi," WikiLeaks tweeted.
