Kangana Ranaut calls Karisma Kapoor "original fashionista," says she "worshipped" her in '90s

Mumbai, August 22

It seems like the fashion icons of the 1990s still have a special place in the hearts of those who grew up watching Bollywood.

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut recently took a trip down memory lane, revealing that Karisma Kapoor was one of her biggest style inspirations during her childhood.

The 'Queen' actor shared a childhood picture of herself on her Instagram Stories along with a note praising Karisma, fondly known as Lolo. In the photo, a young Kangana can be seen wearing black dungarees with a yellow T-shirt, with a sweatshirt tied around her waist.

Sharing the picture, Kangana called Karisma the "original fashionista" and recalled how much she admired the actor in the 1990s.

"Who all worshipped original fashionista @therealkarismakapoor in the 90's ha ha! I definitely did," she wrote. Kangana also added Karisma's popular song Le Gayi from Dil Toh Pagal Hai to the post.

Karisma was among the most popular fashion faces of 1990s Bollywood. From her hairstyles and dresses to her on-screen looks, the actor became a style inspiration for many young women at the time. Her looks in films such as 'Raja Hindustani' and 'Dil To Pagal Hai' remain remembered even today.

On the work front, Kangana was last seen in 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,' directed by Manoj Tapadia. The film is based on the true story of nurses and staff at Cama Hospital who helped save patients during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The film later made its OTT debut on August 14.

Kangana will next be seen in Vikas Bahl's 'Queen 2.'
