Modi launches 'Chai pe Charcha' campaign
In a bid to interact with people, Bharatiya Janata Partry (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the "Chai pe Charcha with NaMo'' campaign at a tea stall here.
The session was relayed at 1000 locations in 300 cities across the country.
Speaking at the campaign, Modi said if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forms the government at the Centre then it will bring black money stashed abroad to India.
"Black Money is surely an anti-national activity..I want to assure people that when we form a government in Delhi then we will create a task force and according to suggestions, we'll make or amend laws. We are going to bring back every single rupee deposited in foreign countries by Indian citizens which is black money...I'm committed to take this step," Modi said.
He said bad governance is like diabetes which brings several other problems along with it.
"One might look healthy but in case he has diabetes then his body plays host to many other ailments....Similarly, bad governance is like diabetes. With bad governance, corruption starts and any sign of development is wiped out...We should stress on good governance in our country," the Gujarat Chief Minister said.
Modi said ideally the government should impose tax on people in such a way that they do not face any trouble paying it.
Speaking on the campaign, Modi earlier in the day tweeted: "I am looking forward to #ChaiPeCharcha this evening. It will be wonderful to interact with sisters and brothers from across India.5 types of technologies will be used to organise #ChaiPeCharcha. I am sure it will be a memorable interaction and a great learning experience."
Modi has often referred to his humble background while addressing rallies in the country.
"I have sold tea at the railway station and in running trains," Modi had said at a rally earlier.
